Augsburg

Our caravan stopped in Augsburg, the first German city of this incredible journey!

Our arrival in the city, after 9 hours of travelling, has been chaotic and tiring but spending some time together in the city helped us to get back our energy and good vibes. We discovered the beauty of Augsburg, not only by visiting the city but also by knowing more about the initiatives and policies on sustainability: during our workshop with Norbert Stamm of the Office of Sustainability of the city of Augsburg, we learned how the municipality involves the community in taking care of the city and the environment. It was amazing to notice how many people care and share our values about environmental protection and fast fashion.

After that, we started our street campaign in Königsplatz. It was not easy to approach people, and it has been a bit frustrating to receive rejections and little attention. Despite all the “no” we received and some difficulties with the language, we tried and managed to keep our joy and enthusiasm strong: we pushed and sustained each other knowing that working as a group is the only key we have to reach our goals and build the future we want!

Every little smile, every little talk, every person who stopped to see what we were doing reminded us of the meaning of the campaign and of the caravan.

Now it’s time to leave Germany to reach France, but it’s just a “see you soon”!
